‘Ardscoil na Mara Principal’s welcome’
My name is Pádraig Cawley and it is a privilege and a pleasure to have been appointed as the first principal of Ardscoil na Mara.
Ardscoil na Mara is an amalgamated secondary school in Tramore, Co. Waterford, under the joint trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST) and the Religious Sisters of Charity(RSC). The two schools, Stella Maris and CBS Tramore, amalgamated in 2014 to form Ardscoil na Mara.
We are situated in a new purpose built school in Summerhill, Tramore, with a current student population of over 1,100 students. We are inclusive in our intake and offer a wide range of subjects at junior and senior cycle. We are aiming to create a broad and balanced curriculum which endeavours to meet the needs of our diverse cohort of students.
The school currently offers the Junior Certificate, Transition Year (TY) programme, the Leaving Certificate, the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP).
We have a superb, dedicated, enthusiastic teaching team where the focus is always on the holistic development of every student to reach to their potential. The staff in Ardscoil na Mara, aim to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their potential. Our state examination results reflect our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and the achievement of high academic standards. Regular reports, careful monitoring and an awards system are all part of the culture that encourages each student to achieve their personal best. In addition, students participate in a wide variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Parents subscribe to the Christian/Catholic philosophy of the school when they freely choose to send their children to Ardscoil na Mara.
