Our camogie teams have been training hard over the last term and they are progressing very well.
We are delighted to see so many first year girls signed up to the school team and they are settling in very well. training is every Wednesday from 4-5. Anyone who would like to join at any point are very welcome.
Our under 16.5 girls had their first outing before the midterm. They played Mercy, Waterford in the quarter final of the under 16.5 South Cup and they had a comprehensive win over their neighbours. Everyone played very well with scores coming from all across our forward line. Any threat on our goal was well managed and the girls did very well turning from defence to attack. We were delighted that we had the opportunity to try out some of our new first years also, which is very positive going forward.
The girls now go forward into the semi-final where they will meet Gaelcholáiste Mhuire, Corcaigh. Dates tbc
Our seniors girls also had their first game of the campaign in October where they came up against some very strong opposition. They fought hard and showed great tenacity and courage throughout, playing right through to the final whistle. Unfortunately, we were outplayed on the day by a very strong Borrisoleigh side who look likely to progress well through the senior championship. On a positive note, we have a very young senior team and they are certain to learn and improve from playing at such a high standard.
Up next for our seniors is the Intermediate championship where, like our under 16.5 team, they will take on Gaelcholáiste Mhuire, Corcaigh. Dates tbc
