BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition

Ardscoil na Mara are proud to announce that out of the 5 competitors from the Waterford area that have qualified to compete in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin, 4 participants are pupils in our school.

We are particularly delighted that Waterford, which has such strong tradition in the Science industries, is so well represented.

Over 2,000 projects were submitted from schools all around the country, and it is an amazing achievement that our students are among only 550 projects to qualify.

The students from Ardscoil na Mara that will travel to the RDS this week are:

Roisin Ni Chadhla: From Wonder Woman to Daddy Pig; An Investigation of The Sexist Conditioning
of Children Through TV and Film
Category: Social and Behavioural Sciences

Conor O Chadhla: Could Your Blood Be Killing You?
Category: Social and Behavioural Sciences

Caoimhin O’Leary: Clearwater: Correct UV Energy for Safe Drinking Water
Category: Technology

Tom Kiely: An Eye for Colour
Category: Biological and Ecological

We would like to thank the parents of the pupils involved for their support and also to the teachers involved:  Ms. Shannon and Ms. Adamson.  We wish our students the very best of luck in the competition.
