Transition Years have been very busy over the last two weeks since mid term. All students had the opportunity to develop their problem solving skills while trying to get out of the rooms at The Great Escape. Along with this, they attended science week lectures in WIT by State Pathologist Marie Cassidy, one on Internet in the Car and also heard about Newton’s Mechanics.
The GAA coaching course is continuing with students being put through their paces and giving them an insight onto the coaching world.
A new initiative in the school this year sees 6th class students from Holy Cross School coming in every week to the TYs for paired science class. The welcome return of the Architiects in Schools programme has happened with students getting an insight into the work of an architect. Bank applications are in and interviews will take place in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all Transition Years who helped sell Angel pins around Tramore for the Irish Wheelchair Association. Students will be participating in an adapted PE module in the coming weeks which will be followed by a wheelchair basketball tournament.
