School of Sanctuary

Our Peace and Justice group is working on becoming a School of Sanctuary. School of Sanctuary is all about creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment in school. School of Sanctuary is made up of 3 main principles:

Learn: The students had a talk with a refugee and sent out surveys to learn about the diversity in our school.

Take Action: The students make sure the Peace and Justice board displays all of the cultures in our school and that teachers have the necessary resources to communicate with students who speak another language.

Share: They work with other Edmund Rice schools to generate new ideas and share our work.

The students do this to create a culture where everyone feels safe,welcomed and valued in our school and the community. We are a school that is proud to be a place of safety and inclusion for all.
