Munster Indoor Athletic Championships 3-3-20
It was a very busy day in Nenagh with a total of 23 athletes travelling to these championships. There was a huge turnout by many munster schools. We engaged in events such as 60m 60m hurdles, 600m, 1200m, shot put and a relay. Students that pushed to the fore were Esdras Irabizi who got to the final of the minor 60m, qualifying strongly through his heat and semi final. Neil Allen qualified into the semi but was unlucky not to progress to the final. Roisin McGrath made the final of the 60m hurdles and 60m sprint coming 5th and 4th in two great fields, Chinelo Ogugua was unlucky not to qualify from her 60m, along with Sam Ryan, Ewan Wheatley and Michael Wilmott who also put in great efforts. Great efforts were put in over 600m & 1200m distances by AJ Sims, Peter Ellickson, Aoibhe O Brien, Richard and Harry Walsh, Darren Wall and Jay Finn. Well done to everyone who took part in these championships and to Aisling Milner who was a very effective assistant coach on the day and well done to all the athletes who have kept up the consistency to date in their training. All focus turns to the all Ireland cross country saturday the 7th of march as we see the Ardscoil junior boys team take on the best Ireland has to offer.
