Happy New Year,
We have been busy! If you haven't already heard us on RTE Radio 1 Countrywide listen back to our conversation about our
Climate Cafe. Thank you to all those parents who completed the
survey about our Plant a Planet Campaign. If you haven't had a chance to complete it yet, please do, as we would love to hear your thoughts.
The campaign encourages students to plant a tree in their own garden. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and they provide food and shelter for wildlife. Planting a tree is a really important action for climate and nature. If a student plants a tree and posts a selfie of them planting the tree on our google classroom (classroom code: xmprw3g) they get 5 positive points and they are entered into a raffle for some awesome prizes.
You can order your trees from us using this
form. We have attached a list of native trees that are available to order. For each tree we have provided you with information on which ones are suitable for small and medium gardens and their value to local wildlife.
The trees are supplied as whips and we'll be making a short video to show you how to plant them.
Thanks for your support,
Sustainability Committee
