Ardscoil na Mara is the only secondary school in Tramore, Co. Waterford and is under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST). The newly built school opened its doors in 2014 on a new campus at Summerhill, Tramore following the amalgamation of Stella Maris and Christian Brothers secondary schools in Tramore.

Our school is a coeducational secondary school with state of the art facilities and has a current student population of 1186 students. As a Catholic school within the Edmund Rice School’s Trust we strive to support and nourish the lives of those who are at the heart of our school – students, staff and parents. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which endeavours to meet the needs of our diverse cohort of students in a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Our broad curriculum currently offers the Junior Certificate, Transition Year (TY) programme, the Leaving Certificate, the Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP).

Ardscoil na Mara’s enthusiastic and dedicated teaching team are committed to the holistic development of every student in the Edmund Rice traditions. Our state examination results reflect our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and the achievement of high academic standards. Regular reports, academic monitoring and an awards system are all part of the culture that encourages each student to achieve their personal best. In addition, students participate in a wide variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Our shared goal of respecting every student’s right to learn is reflected in our school motto: ‘Every student, Every Class, Every day’.

In Ardscoil na Mara, we work with our parents to enable and empower our students to grow and mature as young adults who will achieve their potential, be prepared to face life’s challenges and live meaningful and purposeful lives. As our school develops, we do so mindful of our Christian ethos and philosophy, which informs our work in all aspects of school life. Should you choose to send your child to Ardscoil na Mara, we will ensure with your support, that they are taught in a manner that unlocks their academic potential, but also develops their spiritual, moral and human aspects of their character as set out in the ERST Charter.
